A proxy server is an intermediary between a client that requests a resource and the server from which that resource is retrieved. The request is made to the proxy server which, in turn, requests the resource from the target server. If the external application does not use a proxy server, you do not need to define one.

To define a proxy server, select [New server] from the drop-down list. Define the following properties for the proxy server:

PropertyDescription
NameThe name of the proxy server. This is the name that appears in the "Proxy" drop-down list in the WmIncludeFilter on the "External Applications" tab.
Server nameThe name of the application server as defined by the application provider.
PortThe port to be used to communicate with the proxy. Leave this field blank if no port number is used in the URL.
UsernameThe username required to log in to the proxy server.
PasswordThe password required to log in to the proxy server.
