In the Database Connections panel, you can view information from the database(s) being used by XperienCentral. You can view the database's metadata as well as a list of all the tables in the database(s). By selecting a table from the list, you can see the fields it contains and the format of those fields. You can also query the database in order to retrieve the current value of a specific field or fields as well as to alter the structure of the database.

Table Queries

You can enter Structured Query Language (SQL) statements in order to manage a database and retrieve the values of fields in a database's tables on the "Query" tab.

Use extreme caution when executing SQL statements such as DELETE, JOIN, and others that can affect the structure of the database and/or tables and fields because doing so could have an adverse affect on your website(s).

To perform a query, follow these steps:

  1. Select the database to query from the "Database" drop-down list.
  2. To limit the results to a specific amount, enter a value in the "Maximum number of records to be returned" field.
  3. In the "Query" field, enter a Structured Query Language (SQL) statement and then click [Execute query]. The result is displayed in the "Query Results" section. For example:

If the query does not retrieve values (by an UPDATE, for example), the result(s) of the query on the database will be shown. For example:
