XperienCentral Traditional and Headless Versions
Beginning in version R23, XperienCentral is available in two distinct versions: Traditional and Headless. Traditional is the full version of XperienCentral and Headless is a 'light' version of XperienCentral. Some components that are part of the Traditional version are not covered by the license and maintenance contract of XperienCentral Headless. To make this distinction clear, the standard components and add-ons for each edition are listed below. Aside from the fact that some add-ons are not included by default, all XperienCentral plugins and add-ons fall under the Traditional license and maintenance contract.
Standard components are plugins that are standard parts of the mentioned XC edition. The version of these components is identical to that of XC itself. Standard components cannot be individually updated or removed; they are linked to the XC version.
The tables of standard components have four columns: "Plugin name," "Headless," "Traditional," and "Level." The "Plugin name" column states the name of the plugin as it is also found in the Plugins screen. If there is a + sign in the "Traditional" column, this component is part of the Traditional XC edition. If there is a - sign, the component is not part of the Traditional XC edition. The same applies to the "Headless" column and the XC Headless edition.
The "Level" column shows the associated starting level of the plugin, which is also displayed in the Plugins panel. Plugins in XC are divided into various starting levels, starting with the plugins with the lowest level, then the plugins with the second-lowest level, and so on. The lower the starting level of the plugin, the more the plugin belongs to the core of XC.
