This section explains how to use the Setup Tool to configure and maintain settings crucial to the proper functioning of XperienCentral channels(s). You can perform tests, maintain database connections, and install updates as well as import and export content. Typical users of the Setup Tool are application managers and developers. See also Channel Configuration for information on configuring settings that only apply to a specific XperienCentral channel.

To access the Setup Tool, navigate to the following URL in your browser:<xperiencentral-server>/web/setup
Log in using your XperienCentral credentials. See Logging in to XperienCentral for complete information on logging inIn XperienCentral, you can manage the rights that website visitors, also referred to as users, have to access pages on a website. To control the pages that users can access, you create user profiles and groups. Users can be added to groups and at the page level you decide which group(s) can access it. In the example below, users in the "Registered users" group can access all the available web pages while users that do not belong to the group can only access the pages that are not restricted to registered users:
Assigning access to users at the group level is much more efficient and easy than assigning rights to each user individually. This is also convenient in cases where authorization(s) need to be added or removed from a specific group of users.
